Bobcats Fall on the Road to Buffalo, 77–59
Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) battled for three quarters on Thursday night in Buffalo, but a big fourth-quarter surge by the host Bobcats proved to be the difference as Ohio fell 77–59.
Ohio opened the game with strong energy, taking a 15–14 lead after the first quarter behind early defensive pressure and efficient paint touches. Both teams traded baskets throughout the second as the pace slowed, sending Ohio into halftime tied 28–28 in a tough, grind-it-out matchup.
The game shifted in the third. Buffalo found momentum in transition and on the offensive glass, edging ahead 49–45 heading into the final frame. Ohio continued to compete, but Buffalo's fourth-quarter run (29 points in the period) created separation the visitors couldn't overcome.
Despite the result, several Ohio players delivered standout performances:
-
Aryn Harris led with an efficient 18 points, attacking off the bounce (5-11 FG, 7-8 FT).
-
Ryann Greenfield filled the stat sheet again, posting 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals while playing all but a few minutes.
-
Destinee White added 10 points and stayed poised under pressure, finishing with 4 assists.
-
Marisela Santos provided a spark off the bench with 8 points and 5 rebounds.
-
Amarie Hightower chipped in 4 rebounds and 2 points in productive minutes.
Ohio finished the night shooting 35.6% from the field and 82.4% at the line, but struggled from three. Buffalo countered with strong interior scoring and rebounding, particularly in the second half, to pull away late.
The Bobcats return to action next week looking to regroup and bounce back as conference play continues.
