Buffalo Pulls Away in Conference Matchup
The Bryant & Stratton College (Ohio) women's basketball team battled on Friday evening but came up short in an 87–54 loss to conference opponent Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) on December 19th at Ursuline College.
Buffalo jumped out to an early lead behind efficient scoring and strong rebounding, holding a 39–16 advantage at halftime. Despite the early deficit, Ohio continued to compete and showed improved energy coming out of the break, cutting into the margin with a stronger third-quarter effort.
The Bobcats found their best rhythm offensively in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 points and pushing the pace on both ends. Destinee White led the way with 15 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and five steals, showcasing her all-around impact. Madison Jacobs added seven points and 11 rebounds off the bench, while Marisela Santos contributed eight points and 10 rebounds to give Ohio multiple double-digit rebound performances.
Buffalo was paced by Chelsea Johnson's 31-point performance, along with balanced contributions across the lineup that helped them run away with the game.
Despite the final score, Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) matched Buffalo on the glass with 51 rebounds and continued to fight for 40 minutes. The team will look to build on the defensive activity and fourth-quarter momentum as conference play continues.
The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, December 21, traveling to Villa Maria for a 12:00 PM EST tip-off.
