Bobcats Battle Early, Fall at Kent State Tusc
The Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) women's basketball team put together a strong effort on Sunday afternoon but came up short in an 86–74 loss to Kent State Tusc on December 7th.
Bryant & Stratton controlled the tempo early and led after both the first and second quarters, taking an 34–30 advantage into halftime. The Bobcats' defense set the tone early, holding Kent State Tusc to just 30 points over the first two periods while generating quality looks on the offensive end.
Kent State Tusc shifted momentum in the third quarter, outscoring the Bobcats 24–16, and carried that surge into the fourth quarter where they extended the lead behind efficient shooting and second-chance opportunities.
Despite the final margin, Bryant & Stratton showed resilience down the stretch, scoring 24 points in the fourth quarter and continuing to attack until the final horn.
Destinee White led the Bobcats with 22 points, knocking down 8-of-9 free throws while adding five assists. Ryann Greenfield posted a strong all-around performance with 16 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and a block. Madison Jacobs was active on the glass, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Natalia Wilson and Marisela Santos chipped in eight points apiece.
As a team, Bryant & Stratton finished with 44 rebounds and connected on nearly 39% of their three-point attempts, but Kent State Tusc capitalized late, shooting over 41% from the field and winning the rebounding battle down the stretch.
The Bobcats will look to build off their strong first half and late push as they prepare for the next stretch of conference play.
