Bobcats Fall on the Road at Ohio Christian, 78-52
The B&SC (Ohio) men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Ohio Christian squad Wednesday night, falling 78-52 at the Maxwell Center in Circleville.
Ohio Christian (21-2) came out sharp offensively, building a 38-25 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. They continued to extend its lead in the second half, finishing the night at 54.7% from the field and knocking down nine three-pointers.
Roper Paces the Bobcats
Tareeq Roper led B&SC with 13 points, connecting on two three-pointers and going 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Detric Hearst added nine points and three rebounds, while Phillip Byrd and Adeboye Akinode each grabbed six rebounds to anchor the interior effort.
The Bobcats showed toughness on the glass, pulling down 15 offensive rebounds and turning them into 20 second-chance points. B&SC also held its own in the paint, finishing with 26 points inside.
Efficiency the Difference
The difference ultimately came down to shooting efficiency. B&SC shot 29.2% from the field and 13.6% from beyond the arc, while Ohio Christian found consistent rhythm throughout both halves.
Despite the setback, the Bobcats continue to battle and will look to regroup, clean up the defensive details, and respond with urgency in their next matchup.
