Bryant & Stratton College (Ohio) delivered a clutch home victory Sunday afternoon, edging Bryant & Stratton (Syracuse) 88–86 behind a game-winning pull-up jumper by Tareeq Roper with just seconds remaining at Ursuline College.
Locked at 86 late, Roper calmly rose from the mid-range and buried the decisive shot, sealing a hard-fought win after a tightly contested battle that saw both teams tied 42–42 at halftime. The Bobcats showed poise down the stretch, executing when it mattered most.
Detric Hearst had a well rounded game with 24 points, adding 10 rebounds and 7 assists for a near triple-double performance. Greg Thurman led all scorers with 25 points, knocking down timely threes and finishing a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Roper contributed 12 points and 8 assists, orchestrating the offense and delivering the final blow.
Inside, Sam Whitaker III controlled the glass with 10 rebounds and added 8 points, while Phillip Byrd and Adeboye Akinode provided energy and rim protection on the defensive end. As a team, B&SC Ohio shot 47.8% from the field and 84.2% at the line, outlasting a Syracuse squad that got balanced scoring and strong perimeter shooting.
