Byrd Dominates as Bobcats Pull Away for 73–47 Home Win
Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) delivered a complete performance on Wednesday afternoon, pulling away early and never looking back in a convincing 73–47 victory over Bryant & Stratton (Rochester).
Ohio set the tone from the opening tip, racing to a 31–17 halftime lead behind relentless defensive pressure and efficient offense. The Bobcats continued to apply pressure in the second half, outscoring Rochester 42–30 to seal the win.
The highlight of the day came when Brian Gillespie electrified the gym with a powerful dunk, igniting the bench and crowd while underscoring the Bobcats' physical edge and energy.
Phillip Byrd was dominant on both ends of the floor, turning in one of the most efficient performances of the season. Byrd finished with 21 points on a perfect 10-for-10 shooting, added 11 rebounds, and protected the rim with two blocks, controlling the paint from start to finish.
Ohio's depth and ball movement were also key. The Bobcats totaled 19 assists on 31 made field goals, with Tareeq Roper orchestrating the offense and Dondi Harper providing a spark off the bench, knocking down four three-pointers and scoring 14 points in 17 minutes.
Defensively, Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) held Rochester to 28.3% shooting from the field and just 3-of-19 from beyond the arc, while winning the rebounding battle 45–33 and forcing 15 turnovers.
The win showcased Ohio's balance, toughness, and ability to control the game at both ends as the team continues to build momentum moving forward.
