Bobcats Battle but Fall to Erie, 81–72
Bryant & Stratton College (Ohio) put together a strong interior performance, but couldn't overcome Erie Community College's perimeter shooting, falling 81–72 Sunday afternoon at Ursuline College.
The Bobcats trailed by just three at halftime, 33–30, after playing physical defense and controlling the glass early. However, Erie caught fire from beyond the arc in the second half, knocking down timely three-pointers to stretch the lead and hold off Bryant & Stratton's push.
Blake Brookenthal delivered a dominant performance for the Bobcats, pouring in a game-high 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting while grabbing 14 rebounds and swatting 5 shots, anchoring the paint at both ends. Jahleel Wakeel added 16 points, connecting on a pair of three-pointers and attacking efficiently offensively.
Aaron Wilson chipped in 10 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals, while Donovan Barnes impacted the game across the stat sheet with 9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.
Bryant & Stratton finished with a 46–41 rebounding advantage, but Erie's 15 made three-pointers proved to be the difference. Erie was led by Terrance Walker Jr., who scored 26 points and hit 7 three-pointers in the win.
Despite the setback, the Bobcats showed toughness and effort throughout and will look to build on that momentum heading into their next matchup.
