No. 8 Bobcats Take Down No. 5 Bloomfield in Conference Home Opener, 77–75

Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) opened both its conference slate and home schedule with a statement victory, outlasting No. 5 Bloomfield 77–75 in a high-level matchup between two nationally ranked programs. Entering the contest ranked No. 8 in the nation, the Bobcats delivered a huge win by taking down a top-five opponent and showcasing their balance, resilience, and late-game execution.
The Bobcats controlled much of the first half, using strong interior play and second-chance scoring to take a 38–34 lead into the break. Bloomfield responded early in the second half, attacking the glass and generating efficient offense, but Bryant & Stratton repeatedly answered with timely baskets and defensive stops.
Greg Thurman powered the Bobcats with a game-high 20 points, adding 10 rebounds and hitting several momentum-shifting shots. Tareeq Roper delivered a complete performance with 17 points, 4 assists, and key late-game poise. Detric Hearst was impactful on both ends, posting 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Phillip Byrd controlled the interior with 12 rebounds, helping B&SC Ohio win the overall rebounding battle 47–40.
Defensively, the Bobcats held Bloomfield to 7-of-16 from three and forced tough attempts in the final minutes. With the game tied in the closing stretch, Bryant & Stratton made critical plays on both ends to seal the win. Despite a strong late push from Bloomfield, including standout efforts from Zamorian Singleton (17 points, 9 rebounds) and Marcus Bucknall (13 points, 16 rebounds), the Bobcats maintained composure and closed out a signature victory.
The win moves Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) to 1–0 in conference play and solidifies their national standing with an early-season triumph over a top-five opponent.
