Game 1 – Wright State Lake 84, Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) 75
The Bobcats opened their 2025–26 season on Friday evening at The Garage against Wright State Lake, battling through a competitive first half before falling 84–75.
Bryant & Stratton trailed by just one at halftime (41–40) but struggled to cool off Wright State Lake's outside shooting, as the Lakers hit 12 threes on 60% from beyond the arc. Detric Hearst led the way with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Tareeq Roper added 13 points, 6 boards, and 3 steals. Phillip Byrd and Greg Thurman each chipped in 10 points, and Sam Whitaker III provided a strong spark off the bench with 7 rebounds and 6 points in 13 minutes.
Game 2 – Bryant & Stratton (Ohio) 89, University of Northwestern Ohio 88 (2OT)
The following night, the Bobcats bounced back in dramatic fashion, outlasting the University of Northwestern Ohio in double overtime to earn their first win of the season.
Junior guard Greg Thurman exploded for 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting, including 6-for-9 from three, leading a balanced Bryant & Stratton attack that shot 54.5% from the field and 52.6% from deep.
Detric Hearst again delivered a steady all-around performance with 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Brian Gillespie provided key minutes off the bench, scoring 12 points with 5 rebounds.
Tareeq Roper orchestrated the offense with 9 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, and Kenji Ward-Sims added 8 points and 2 assists in the victory.
The Bobcats held off a late rally from UNOH despite 28 points from Antonio King, sealing the win with key defensive stops in the second overtime.
