Bobcats Drop OCCAC Matchup to Chargers
The Bobcats played host to the Edison State Chargers in an OCCAC match up, dropping the contest by a final score of 83-70. Deval Harrell led all scorers on the night with 28 points raising his points per game average to 23 points a night, good for second in the OCCAC. Also finishing in double figures on the night was guard Larry Reynolds with 18 and guard Tareeq Roper with 11.
The Chargers came into the match up 1-1 in conference play having just lost to current conference leading Hocking College on a last second bucket 66-64. Edison took a 13 point lead going into halftime largely due to the Chargers 6'7'' post man Sekou Maiga. The Sophomore from Columbus finished the half leading all scorers with 12 points while pulling down 12 rebounds. The Bobcats made the adjustment at half time and found a way to keep Maiga off the glass while also getting Harrell more looks on the offensive end, but it wouldn't be enough to allow them to overcome the 13 point deficit from halftime. They would drop this one by the final score of 83-70. The Bobcats will be back at Ursuline College Wednesday at 9pm Vs Lakeland College in another OCCAC match up
