Strong Second Half Not Enough For Bobcats
The Bobcats open the 21-22 campaign with a tough loss at Macomb Community College as they fall to the Monarchs 86-70. Deval Harrel led the Bobcats with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Larry Reynolds finished with 12 points, and Tyree Alexander had 10 points.
A slow first half would spell doom for the Bobcats as they shot 8-27 (27%) from the field in the first half and only managed 22 points. The lone bright spot from the first half of the game was Freshman Tyree Alexander coming off the bench to score 10 points on 4-6 shooting with a pair of three balls to give the Bobcats some life. The second half was a completely different story as the Bobcats would outscore the Monarchs 48-47 behind the scoring onslaught of second year players Deval Harrell and Larry Reynolds. Reynolds would score all of his 12 points in the second half and Deval Harrell would drop 27 of his 29. Unfortunately the scoring was not enough to make up for the Monarchs lead going into half time as they would defeat the Bobcats 86-70. The loss moves the Bobcat record to 0-1 on the season they will look to put one in the win column as they travel to the University of Rio Grande tomorrow evening.
